Members are asked to attend every rehearsal and concert, and to arrive on time. Please notify band presidents Kevin Bruns or Anne Lippin if you will be late or absent.
Members pay dues to allow us to purchase music, pay our conductor a very small stipend, and support the South High Music Department. The South High band program has been hit hard by district budget cuts, and the SHCB remains committed to supporting the program as fully as we can. We ask all members to contribute dues in the following amounts, and we welcome more generous contributions from members as they are able:
- $80 for Concert Band
- $40 for Jazz Band
- $10 for students
Band donations through the Friends of South High Foundation are tax deductible. You can donate online through GiveMN. If donating online, please be sure to write “COMMUNITY BAND” in the dedication/comments box. (Donations from the community are also welcomed!)
Concert attire is generally all black, although we will wear our South High Community Band t-shirts for some events.
